Need therapy for…
How many sessions will I need?
This answer is different for everyone, but common courses of therapy will be 2-5 sessions, 8-12 sessions, or possibly longer term depending on your goals. Note that an underlying goal I have for everyone I see is for you to not need me anymore.
What kind of therapy will we do?
I use a blend of acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), behavior therapy, and relational frame theory (RFT). Throughout the course of therapy, we may shift in and out of these modalities as needed. Regardless of which approach is used, my focus is always on remaining practically useful to you.
Can I bring someone with me to my sessions?
Yes. Bringing a support person such as a spouse, friend, or parent can be helpful at times. Regardless of who is in the room, my focus will remain on you, the client. Please note that I do not practice couples therapy.
